It will take a marathon effort by many departments of the Government of Dubai to prepare for the city’s role in the athletics’ world spotlight next week, with more than 30,000 runners expected to take to the streets for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon.
Defending champion Rafa Botello of Spain will face a world-class field of racers including nine-time world champion and double Paralympic gold medalist Marcel Hug of Switzerland when the most talented line-up in the event’s history takes to the course for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon on January 26.
Two of the world’s leading marathon runners Aselefech Mergia and Mare Dibaba will go head-to-head in the women’s event when the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon gets underway on January 26.
