Following the crowning of Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon winners Lelisa Desisa and Ruth Chepngetich as Marathon Runners of the Year, all eyes will now turn to the 21st staging of the Middle East’s premier marathon on January 24 and the potential emergence of new running talent.

Organisers of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon have been quick to congratulate the gold medal winning performance of Ruth Chepngetich at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha.

Getaneh Molla of Ethiopia and Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich won the 20th edition of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon today (Jan 25) with both athletes producing spectacular course records that rank among the fastest times in the history of marathon running.
